Five Star Hotel Named After Bingu
The new conference centre which the Chinese government is constructing in Malawi’s City Centre will be called Bingu wa Mutharika Conference Centre in honour of President Bingu wa Mutharika.
Tourism Minister Daniel Liwimbi confirmed that at the last cabinet meeting, Ministers agreed to name the conference after the President’s name.
“This has the blessing of the cabinet because it is where we agreed to name that part of the hotel as Bingu wa Mutharika Conference Centre,” said Liwimbi.
Mr. Liwimbi added the whole parked where there is conference centre and Five Star Hotel will be called Umodzi Park.
The conference centre is part of the Five Star Hotel, magnificent and state of the art hotel being constructed by the Chinese Government in Lilongwe’s city centre.
The Minister said the entire hotel will be known as President Hotel and will in June host an African Union Summit.
Lying along the presidential highway, adjacent New Parliament Building and Kamuzu Mausoleum, the President Hotel has added sparkling beauty in city centre.
It is probably one of the greatest infrastructural developments that the DPP government has brought to Malawi. —Zodiak Online
