COWHLA Empowers HIV Positive Women

LILONGWE: A Malawian NGO is empowering HIV positive women across the southern African country on their right to demand services from authorities including on good governance issues.

The Coalition of Women Living with HIV/AIDS (COWHLA) is implementing the initiative in all the 28 districts of Malawi.

The organization says this is one way of empowering HIV positive women to demand services like that would help uplift their lives.

“We have trained 20 women district coordinators pulled from across the country to empower fellow women in their districts on the project. We want to empower them to demand their rights,” says Mr. Steven Iphani Programs Officer for COWHLA.
