Bingu Justifies Secret Dealings
President Bingu wa Mutharika has justified the secrecy surrounding some of his dealings, claiming some people are sabotaging his efforts to seek help to end Malawi’s problems.
He was speaking to the clergy from the central and northern regions at the New State house on Friday evening.
Without directly commenting on the current reports that he sneaked out to Nigeria for undisclosed business, the president said some people have been sabotaging his efforts to liaise with international partners on Malawi’s challenges.
The president was so stern on people who would like to pry in his undertakings.
He said government has classified, confidential and strictly confidential undertakings and every Jim and jack cannot access everything government does.
He gave an example of a done deal with one Arab country on finding the lasting solutions to the country’s challenges which he claimed was thwarted by some Malawians he described as unpatriotic citizens.
Sources told Zodiak Online, that one of the clergy, Linely Mbeta before condemning the saboteurs, told the president some problems emanate from the high office itself. —Zodiak Online
