``The population has now grown tremendously, and our subjects need land for farming,” says Senior Group Village Mbalale.

In a separate interview with Group Village Head Tembo Nyaluwanga of Nkhatabay thinks this is time for Government to engage them and their subjects.
Said Nyaluwanga, `` there is need for a dialogue between us, our subjects and government on how the idle land should be utilized.
Government is using only 400 of the 6,000 hectares of Dwambazi Farm, formerly owned by the defunct Malawi Young Pioneers, training base.
However Minister of Agriculture Lobin Lowe says his Ministry will engage the chiefs and community members so as to come to a consensus.
"We are aware of their concerns. And we will engage the traditional leaders, their subjects and map the way forward" says Lowe.
