6 Students Set Ablaze Mtendere Secondary School Offices
Six students from Mtendere Boys Secondary School in Dedza were arrested on Saturday for being suspected to have set ablaze two offices at the school, Dedza Deputy Police Spokesperson Cassim Manda has told Zodiak Online.
"The students were misbehaving and the school management wanted to send their disciplinary charges to the ministry of education for determination."
"The 6 students between the age of 16 and 17 allegedly set ablaze the offices in order to destroy their disciplinary shreds of evidence," said Manda
According to Manda, the ring leader bought 2 liters of petrol at Thete Trading Centre which was used to set the offices on fire.
He said the gutted offices have led to the loss of property worth 3 Million Kwacha.
"We have released the six students on bail on Monday," said Manda.
Meanwhile, the 6 are also expected to face disciplinary action from the school officials.
