Chinese Community Donates PPE to Immigration Dept

Members of the Chinese community have donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Central Regional Immigration Office.

Chairman of the community, a Mr. Zhou, says the gesture is to protect the officers whose duty exposes them to COVID19.

Deputy Regional Commander, Stanlake Kalimanjira, described the donation as timely.

"During this festive season we are on the ground 24/7 in making sure that our national security is enhanced while at the same time apprehending, prosecuting, deporting and repatriating undocumented immigrants.

“For a successful implementation of such excise, our officers need to be protected from this infectious disease," said Kalimanjira.

He further appealed to other companies and organizations to emulate the gesture.

The donated items include 2, 000 facemask and 240 hand sanitizers.
