Lower Shire Youth Want Better Share in MEDF Loans

Young people in Lower shire have asked President Peter Mutharika to see to it that the newly launched 8 billion kwacha loan fund reaches the rural youth who are desperate to achieve economic self reliance.
Youth Representatives John Alufandika of Katunga area in Chikwawa and Moses Jackson of Malemia area in Nsanje told Zodiak on Friday afternoon that the president should make sure that the loan targets every youth regardless of political affiliations
Currently, young people in Chikwawa and Nsanje are hopeful that the loan has the potential to uplift lives of the youth and end gender domestic violence among women.
"We optimistic that the loan will improve lives of most unemployed young people who are struggling to make ends meet," said Alufandika and Jackson.
Jackson has since asked those responsible to make sure that deserving youths benefit.
"Here in Nsanje, I have not heard of any youth benefiting from such programs. I believe this time around, we will be targeted," explained Jackson.
President Peter Mutharika told the nation a few days ago that the loan is for every Malawian.
Others think the president launched MEDF as a campaign tool aheard of a fresh presidential poll.
