MANET+ has challenged people living with HIV and Aids to ignore myths that those who are adhering to ARVs drugs are immune to Covid-19.

According to Executive Director for MANET+, Lawrence Khonyongwa, some people are harboring and spreading such beliefs and if left unchecked, can significantly fuel further spread of Coronavirus in the country.

He said people should make use of messages which health workers are spreading through sensitization campaigns to avoid Corona virus.

Khonyongwa said there is need for people living with HIV and Aids continue adhering to treatment so that their immunity improves.

He made the remarks in Phalombe on Thursday during a community dialogue on Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, District Coordinator for Coalition for Women Living with HIV and Aids (COWLHA) in Phalombe, Gloria Thondoro, has hailed the organisation for the meeting, saying it will go a long way in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thondoro has vowed to continue enlightening people living with HIV and Aids to follow all the precautionary measures to avoid spreading of Coronavirus.
