The Vice President of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in the Southern Region says the DPP/UDF Alliance is employing decentralized campaign approach in order to have a sweet presidential victory.

Briefing the media in Lower shire after wrapping up meetings with party leaders in Southern Region on Sunday afternoon, Kondwani Nankhumwa said President Peter Mutharika has implemented major projects in a short period in the country which requires him to have another term.

The political meetings with grass root party leaders in the region were organized to get input on how to mobilize the grassroots to give president Mutharika another mandate to rule the country.

"We are very hopeful that the DPP/UDF Alliance use of decentralized campaign approach by among others getting views and responding to the wishes of the people will make us have a sweet victory," said Nankhumwa.

According to Nankhumwa, President Mutharika deserves another mandate saying he has implemented major projects in the country in a short period of time.

DPP' campaign chairperson in Chikwawa Owen Chomanika says  they have put in place measures to make sure that DPP/UDF candidate in the elections amasses about 90 percent of the votes.

"We are working very hard. We will also engage  literate monitors in the poll, we do not want to have any irregularities," said Chomanika.

The meetings were attended by district governors, ward councilors, former and incumbent members of Parliament among others.
