Owner of I-TECH Solutions, Israel Kondowe, has donated Covid-19 prevention materials such as face masks and sanitizers to Neno CCAP Church.

He says the gesture is to make prayers going at the church where he also congregates while observing social distancing.

This, however, comes at a time Blantyre synod of the church suspended prayers after members of the church tested COVID-19 positive.

“It was saddening to hear that our church was being closed due to Covid-19 pandemic. So as a church elder and managing director of I-TECH Solutions, I thought of donating these two hundred face masks and sanitizers so that we continue to pray at this open space," said Kondowe.

Kondowe further told Zodiak that his initiative is not in defiance to what the Blantyre Synod directed but rather a good will as the Bible encourages one to donate where there is a gap so that the word of God continues to flourish.

"Covid19 prevention measures dictates us to gather in open spaces, wear face masks and sanitize, so we just followed what the ministry of health is saying in its guidelines", concluded Kondowe.

Meanwhile, the I-TECH Solutions managing director is tomorrow and Tuesday expected to donate five hundred more face masks and sanitizers to people at Neno boma main market where trading and meeting of various people do take place hence his wish to protect them from Covid19.

Neno CCAP church moderator Reverend Marry Limula advised her flock today in her sermon to disown the directive of banning church services saying her church engaged the Synod which has agreed to continue with church services in observance to Covid19 prevention measures.

In the last 24 hours, Neno has registered two more cases, all heath workers, bringing the total to 16, with only one recovery.
