A 40 year old mother in Neno district has given birth to triplets at Neno district hospital and is looking for assistance as she says she can't manage to take care of them all as her husband is also in hospital with an amputated leg following a road accident in Mwanza.

The mother, Lusika Kasalika, says that one baby, a baby girl, is still under kangaroo care while calling on well-wishers to help her with baby needs and food stuffs.

“My three babies are all being taken care here after I gave birth to them on the 14th of this month. I’m calling on well-wishers to assist me with food stuffs, clothes, soap and others as I can't manage these alone," she said.

Neno district hospital nursing officer in-charge for postnatal care, Lemekeza Namwali says for the past days, Partners in Heath has been assisting her with her day to day needs but extra help is needed.

The hospitals public relations officer, Carol Banda, says for now the woman who comes from the area of Traditional Authority Dambe is in good health but needs extra assistance beyond what the hospital can offer.

The mother has already other seven children and the triplets have raised the number to ten.
