Vice Chairperson for the group, which its members are people who came from the district, Reverend MacDonald Sembereka, said as children from Mangochi they thought of doing something to help their home district hospital to enhance its work against the pandemic.

“The donation we came to present here, is a result of Mangochi people out there and within the district concerned with the welfare of the people regards to the pandemic,” explained Sembereka, who also said some well-wishers, not originally from the district assisted them.

He promises, the group will continue working closely with the district hospital as there are many areas that need people’s contributions, including areas of civic education on the dangers of the pandemic.

Director of Health and Social Services, Dr. Henry Chibowa Junior, described the donation as crucial as most of the supplies donated are significant in the Covid-19 isolation unit at the hospital. Chibowa, said despite that the cases are going down now in the district, they still need more medical supplies and people should not wait to have more things to donate as even small things they can provide will assist them.

“Am very thankful for FOSEMA, which is an organization for people who came from Mangochi, to see them giving us these equipment’s, it shows us that the community is ready to work with the council and the district hospital so that we can continue giving out quality services,” said Dr. Chibowa.

Among other things the group donated, nebulizers, surgical face masks, infrared thermometers, suction machines, glucometers, gowns, aprons and flow meters.
