MGB Threatens to Revoke Licenses for Bet Companies

The Malawi Gaming Board (MGB) has threatened to revoke licenses of sports betting companies amid reports that children are patronizing their places.

The Board’s spokesperson, Mirriam Kumbuyo, told Zodiak Online this after donating face masks at Namiwawa primary and community day secondary schools in Blantyre that the Board will continue conducting monthly inspection exercises to pin down the culprits.

“Please inform us in time about such cases for it is against the law for children to participate in gambling. We need evidence to take appropriate actions,” said Kumbuyo.

The spokesperson further stated that the Board has also put aside about K20 million to support artists and others in the wake of the COVID-19.
