Nsanje Police Publicist Sub Inspector Agnes Zalakoma has confirmed the arrest to Zodiak Online.

Sub Inspector Zalakoma says the suspect is a standard teacher at Ndiola Primary School.

"Guta has been arrested following revelations that he allegedly defiled a fourteen-year-old standard five girl at the school.

"It was reported that in the month of May, 2021, the suspect, a standard five teacher at Ndiola Primary School, called the survivor, (a 14-year standard five learner), to meet him in a house within the school campus where the suspect proposed love to her.

"Within the same month, the two started having unprotected sex which has resulted into the girl becoming pregnant," explained Zalakoma.

She said some well-wishers reported the matter to Tengani Police Unit where the survivor was further referred to a health centre for medical examination.

"The test results at Tengani health centre proved that the girl is indeed pregnant.

"The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear before court to answer the charge of defilement, " said Zalakoma

Guta hails from Nyamula Village, Traditional Authority Tengani in the district.
