Maranatha Academy has secured ASTEP premises at Luchenza in Thyolo to accommodate students who were evicted at its Matindi campus on Friday last week.

The school’s director, Enerst Kaonga, told journalists in Blantyre on Monday that they have arrived at the solution as they are fighting the eviction in court.

The development comes after sheriffs over the weekend evicted students due to rental misunderstandings with landlord.

“We cannot allow our students to suffer. They will go back to school on Sunday and resume classes on Monday. ASTEP is a good environment for learning,” he said.

Meanwhile, the high court – commercial division has advised lawyers for the Academy to take back the matter to judge who mandated the sheriffs to close the school.

“Our lawyers have done that and they have filed the application before the right judge,” he said.
