Police in Limbe have arrested three men for being found with 370 bags of fertilizer suspected to have been stolen at Bvumbwe in Thyolo.

Limbe police Spokesperson, Patrick Mussa, has told Zodiak on Tuesday that the three have been identified as Hanif Kapanda, 39, George Kajawa 39, and James Chimenya 42.

"On January 29, 2022, Limbe Police detectives received a report that criminals broke into a warehouse belonging to Mr Simion Harry, a businessman in Bvumbwe. The report indicated that only 15 bags of NPK fertilizer were stolen in the warehouse," Mussa said.

He says again, the detectives were also tipped that the suspects were seen in the area offloading bags of fertilizer from a lorry Hino Ranger Registration number TO 9890 into a Freightliner Truck Registration number NA 1912.

He added: "When they made a follow-up, the detectives arrested the three and recovered 370 bags of NPK fertilizer without proper supporting documents."

The three have since been charged with the offenses of being found in possession of property suspected to have been stolen, and breaking into a building and committing a felony therein.
