Thyolo Police Spokesperson Amos Tione, has told Zodiak this morning that incident occurred during the night of 15-16 February 2022 at Molande village in Traditional Authority Nchilamwera in in the district.

"Facts of the case was that, Mateyu Mchikocho (now deceased) was a guard at Mr Mpachika's resident. On the particular night, he was on duty. While there, came unknown criminals came, tied him both hands, legs, squeezed a cloth in his mouth before stealing the window frames and killing him," Tione said.

Tione says the following day, his body was found by the passersby.

Thyolo Police Publicist, says the dead body was later taken to hospital where postmortem was conducted and revealed that death was due to suffocation.

The deceased was coming from Naphazi village, Traditional Authority Nchilamwera in Thyolo District.
