Chiradzulu District Commissioner, Reingard Chavula has confirmed the development to Zodiak saying it follows numerous complaints her office received regarding the recruitment process which saw a total of over 90 people employed in various disciplines at the council.
"My office has received numerous complaints regarding the recruitment exercise. Apart from others alleging that some were employed without applying, others also claim that there are some who were given higher positions when they applied for low positions. It is on this note that we have set up this commission of inquiry", said Chavura.
She added that commission will starts its work this week and she expressed optimisim that its findings will help in bringing justice on the matter.
However one of the concerned youth under the banner of 'The watchdogs 'whose grouping has been following up the matter , Miriam Chilemba has called on the district authorities to expedite the matter saying it should not be swept under the carpet.
Recently during one of his tour inspecting progress of reforms in local councils, vice president, Dr Saulosi Chilima commended Chiradzulu district council for doing things transparently.
