Neno district has beaten its target of vaccinating 25, 536 children in a week.

Director of Health and Social Services for the district, Dr. Grace Momba, told Zodiak Online today that they have vaccinated 29, 652 children, representing a 118 percent.

"We have concluded the exercise and we rate it as a success because we did not encounter any challenge. The community was cooperative," she said.

She says they strategically stationed health surveillance assistants in markets and other busy places to achieve this.

Makita Ben, a father to a four-year-old Andrew, was all smiles while talking to Zodiak, saying he was happy to know that his child was timely protected from the paralysis demon disease.

Councilor for Lisungwi ward who is also council chairperson councilor Mark Ngwangwa earlier advised parents especially men to champion the cause.
