Blantyre Synod of the CCAP Church has made fresh calls for the people to avoid disseminating misleading information about covid 19 vaccine.

Deputy General secretary of the Synod Reverend Baxton Maulidi says church leaders have a critical role in telling people correct information about covid 19 vaccines.

He made his remarks on Tuesday in Blantyre where the Synod held a workshop aimed at sensitising the different church leaders within the Blantyre synod.

During the workshop, Reverend Maulidi urged people to continue adhering to covid 19 preventive measures as the pandemic is still in existence.

‘’We have to inform our congregants about covid-19 vaccines and how they can prevent contracting this disease so that we have a health church,” Maulidi said.

One of the participants, Reverend Kondwani Lemani for Makande CCAP of Chikwawa District concurred with the general secretary, saying people trust information they hear from their church leaders.

‘’As a church which has always been trusted to be a source of authentic messages, we are supposed to be there to guide our practitioners so that people can acquire the vaccines,’’ Lemani said.

Other church leaders and clergy  of Anglican church were in attendance at the workshop.
