The Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church South Lunzu district has urged people in the country to embrace the spirit of cheering one another especially in times of need such as sickness.

Lunzu SDA church coordinator, Evance Kamwana made the call on Sunday when a grouping  of women under dorcus ministry cheered the sick at Chiradzulu District Hospital.

Kamwanana added that the gesture can help to enhance unity in the country which he said is crucial for developmental growth of any society.

"It is very important to care for one another. You see when we share each other’s burdernes, either as individuals or families, I believe we can as well tackle challenges which can fall on us a nation.

"As SDA church we believe in caring for one another both in good as well as bad times. It is on this note that we embarked on this gesture today",  he said.

On his part, Chiradzulu head of clinicians for the labour ward, Symoni Mwamonje, hailed the women for the gesture, saying it has offered the patients some sort of moral as well as material support which is crucial for their recovery.

Among others, they visited the maternity and the under-five ward where they presented various gifts such as sugar, salt, cooking oil and soap.
