The learners were put on bursary last year by a group of professionals calling themselves Two Wheels to School, who mobilize resources for the cause through various activities like sports.

One of the managers of the Bursary Stuart Kambewa told us that their agreement with Chikonde Community Day Secondary school was for a year which they honored, adding the remaining school term was left for parents to pay.

"We secured a one year funding from Airtel Malawi Limited and we started sponsoring the learners in their second term of their form 3, and asked the parents to support the remaining terms", he indicated.

Kambewa further said that, they are still looking for sponsors to complete their mission.

Headteacher for the school, Wexter Zingwangwa confirmed the development but was quick to say that the matter has since been resolved, paving way for the learners to sit for the examinations.

"All candidates are going to sit for the exams and there is nobody who has been stopped from writing exams. As for the students who were on Two Wheels to School project I talked to their parents about the situation of that bursary", he said.

Zingwangwa further said that, parents were asked to pay school fees since the bursary provider did not pay for them, which the parents agreed and the issue was sorted out.
