The Private Schools Association of Malawi (PRISAM) has partnered with Domasi College of Education (DCE) and DMI University to train teachers.

PRISAM Vice President, Patricia Chisi, says the development will nurture teachers from the private schools in promoting education in the country.

“People have a mentality that most of private school teachers are not qualified. With this development, we feel that it is very important. For PRISAM, that is a plus because we want our teachers to improve in terms of education,” she said.

Chisi said that at the meeting with the institutions, the two committed to offer the best to the teachers.

“One of major things that DMI elaborated on was on issues of professionalism and additional knowledge for teachers. They are providing degree and diploma in education.

“They even went further that they will provide masters through a university in Zambia where willing teachers can do online. They said that the moment PRISAM forms an MOU with DMI they are capable of providing scholarships for students who can join DMI,” she said.

DCE Senior lecturer, Dr Gracious Gadama, opened the doors by declaring himself ready to train teachers from nursery to secondary teachers at any time of one's call.
