Thyolo Businessman Robbed of K10 million

A Thyolo based businessman, Henry Manyenga, was last night robbed of K10 million and a Toyota Hilux double cabin motor vehicle at Luchenza.

Luchenza Police Station Officer, Senior Superintendent, Fyson Thawiha has told Zodiak Wednesday, that they have since recovered the vehicle dumped at Mikolongwe in Chiradzulu, and they have leads on the alleged suspects who ‘forced’ Manyenga, 31, to surrender the money and car keys at a lodge he had planned to spend a night in.

Thawiha said Manyenga, who is a businessman for Chandamale Milk Bulking Group, reported that the robbers forced open the door of the room as he was taking a bath before going away the said cash including the vehicle, two laptops and two phones.

He said Manyenga, from Dzungu village, Traditional Authority Bvumbwe, told the police that he wanted to use the cash to pay dairy farmers he conducted business with.

The law enforcers have since tipped people to avoid moving around with large sums of money without security.
