According to court records, the two were in a relationship from July, 2022. They both reside in the area of Senior chief Mlauli in Neno district.

Passing her sentence, Magistrate Magret Khobili observed that the boy is set to sit for his Form Four examinations, he is a first offender and that his parents have been ordered to be paying K50 thousand monthly to the victim.

"The court has found you guilty of the offense of having unlawful ssxual intercourse with a girl child and I sentence you to a three year probation," she meted.

She furthers demanded that the two be given psychosocial support and never marry until they are of age and become independent.

Meanwhile, the same court has also convicted a 23-year-old man, Frackson Masho for raping a 46-year-old woman with speech impairment and sentencing is slated for Friday.

The matter happened last year on the 4th of July and the victim fled to unknown destination until he was apprehended on the 27th of July, 2023.

He hails from Donda 3 village in the area of Traditional Authority Mlauli in the district.
