The Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) says needy students will start benefiting from the proceeds of the invested Endowment Fund next year.
Recently, the institution announced an investment of K2.5 billion in the fund which was launched in 2021 to help students and foster development.

However, MUST communications manager, James Mphande has disclosed that currently apart from courting partners to offer scholarships to hardworking needy students, the university is also implementing some inhouse initiatives such as students adoption by some staff members.

"We also established a number of inhouse initiatives that support needy students such as the MUST Endowment Fund which will be supporting needy students using proceeds of the invested Endowment Funds. Students will start benefiting from this facility in 2024," Mphande said.

Meanwhile, a first year student at the institution, Charles Thengo has told Zodiak Online that he is at the verge of failing to write examinations next month due to a fees balance, calling on well-wishers to help.

"l hereby write to you to help me find a well-wisher who can help me to finance my tertiary education. I have a fees balance of K100, 000. My parents can't manage to pay," he pleaded.
