Most of the marchers wore a black cloth while others donned different regalia demonstrating culture and traditions propagated by pro-old beliefs.

Trading under the banner 'Lost History Foundation’, the crowd chanted anti western beliefs while praising ancenterial tradition and culture.

Executive director for Lost History Foundation Conleith Sellenje told Zodiak, it is imperative to thank the creator, saying God should not only be sought in times of a calamity.

Sellenje was hypothetical on whether the whole exercise is about dissing western propelled religion.

"People should rise up and know their true identity, we are not whites, we are not westerners, we are Africans, we are blacks. What belong to us suits us better," Sellenje said.

He said there are plans to make the event annual hinting that next year Lilongwe or Blantyre will host the parade.

Symon Mphipa who travelled from Jali to witness the event thanked the organisers for the information provided during the entire function saying most people have been brainwashed with western culture.

Commenting on a Facebook post on whether the religion commonly practiced in the country was brought by the whites, former Inspector General of Police and known preacher Loti Dzonzi had another view.

"Christianity arrived in Africa straight from Jerusalem from Mark and Matthew before any Caucasian brought it here," he wrote.
