Head teacher for the school, Grave Susuwele, has confirmed to Zodiak Online Tuesday that students have been at a disadvantage, particularly when it comes to preparing for national examinations, resulting in poor performance.

Susuwele said this year’s performance on science subjects for the national examinations has been affected since no candidate scored a credit or a distinction.

He said lack of laboratory and library has had a significant impact on learners as evident in the performance of science subjects.

"Some of the science laboratory equipment which the school bought got damaged due to inadequate space where we keep this equipment," said Susuwele.

On his part, the Chairperson for Chinolampeni CDSS, Enock Lusiyano, has called upon concerned individual organizations and the government to support the school in acquiring the necessary laboratory and library facilities.

Lusiyano added that the laboratory project which started in 2017 was abandoned in 2021 at foundation level without any explanation.

Meanwhile, spokesperson for the ministry of education, Mphatso Nkuonera, said he needed more time before commenting on the development.

Chinolampeni Community Day Secondary School was opened in 1998 according to the school authorities.
