Social-Economic Woes Depriving MW “Peaceful Nation” Accolade-CSOs
Civil society organizations say socio-economic woes Malawians are experiencing are depriving the country from being accorded the accolade of a “peaceful nation” despite the absence of conflicts and other crises.
This comes when the world is commemorating International Day of Peace where National Coordinator for Catholic Commission for Peace and Justice CCJP Bonface Chibwana says most Malawians cannot afford peaceful life due to economic challenges they are going through.
On the other hand, Executive Director of Coalition for the Empowerment of Women and Girls CEWAG Beatrice Mateyo says a lot of men and women continue to face gender-based violence hence causing conflict among people and slowing the country’s development.
