What Will Happen in The League Over The Weekend?

As the TNM Super League is set for a return this weekend on Saturday and Sunday across the country, here is the full guild of the action.
Nyasa Big Bullets will begin the TNM Super League title defence with a home fixture against last season’s bronze medalists Blue Eagles at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.
The first round of the 2020 season is scheduled to kick-off on 21st March and the People’s Team will host the Lilongwe police side on the opening day, according to the initial roster released by the Super League of Malawi (Sulom).
The two teams will be meeting after sharing three points apiece last season, with Blue Eagles claiming a 2-1 win at Nankhaka in the opening round, before Bullets thrashed the visitors 4-1 at Kamuzu Stadium in the second round.
This season The People’s Team will be chasing a third consecutive title after bagging the 2018 and 2019 elite league titles.
Last season Bullets won the championship with 70 points, a point above their fierce rivals Be Forward Wanderers.
Newly promoted Mafco FC will kick start its campaign against Karonga united at Karonga Stadium before facing Chitipa United at the same venue the following day.
Mafco were crowned 2019 Central region football association league champions thereby earning promotion into the elite league whereas Karonga United who will be going into their third year in the elite league finished 10th on the standings.
Malawi Defence Force outfit Moyale Barracks will begin its campaign by hosting Mighty Tigers at the Mzuzu Stadium.
Moyale finished 6th whereas Tigers for the first time in as many years finished just outside the top 8 spots which means they will not participate in this year’s Airtel Top 8.
Another MDF side Kamuzu Barracks will be in action on Saturday at the Civo stadium as they welcome Blantyre based Ntopwa FC in their first game of the season with the latter set to face TN Stars at Kasungu Stadium 24 hours later.
Second Day 22 March 2020
On Sunday one of the biggest games on the land will take place.
Apart from Blantyre derby which involves Nyasa Big Bullets and Be-Forward Wanderers, when Civil Service United face Silver Strikers in a football match regardless of where it takes place or which competition, it is always considered as one of the finest games in Malawi dubbed Lilongwe derby.
Their rivalry draws a lot of spectators from across the country and the fact that they are neighbors it’s even worse in the streets as people give different views on the outcome of the game. That game involving the two will take place at Civo Stadium on Sunday.
Last season’s runners up Mighty Be-Forward Wanderers will begin their title chase against newly promoted side Red Lions at Kamuzu stadium.
Mzuzu Warriors will host Ekwendeni Hammers in what is called northern region derby.
