Tabitha Joins Inter Milan

Malawi Senior Women's Football team Captain Tabitha Chawinga has officially signed a one-year loan deal with Italian side Inter Milan.

Some years ago Tabitha joined Wuhan Jiangda from Jiangsu Suning to reunite with her sister Temwa.

In 2014 Tabitha became the first Malawian woman footballer to play in Europe when she joined Swedish side Krokom.

Reacting to the news, National Women's Football Association President Suzgo Ngwira has described the move as progressive in developing women's football.

"We are glad that she has made this great move in her career and this will also motivate other upcoming players in the country," Ngwira said.

Tabitha Chawinga came into the limelight after playing for Lilongwe-based side DD Sunshine.
