Balaka Socials Football Team Donates to Cyclone Freddy Survivors
Balaka Socials Football Team in conjunction with Balaka District Council this week donated assorted items to more than 100 households under Sub Traditional Authority Mpilisi in the district.
Balaka Socials Chairperson Blessings Kantema expressed excitement and optimism that the donation will be go a long way to assist the survivors in the road to recovery following the floods which have so far affected over 676.
"The initiative is part of our core values as Balaka Socials to assist the vulnerable and this is why we did not hesitate to mobilize ourselves to reach out to the affected people when the appeal was made," said Kamtema.
The donated items include packs of cooking flour, sugar, 5 litre bottles of drawing water, soap, clothes, shoes, among others.
One of the survivors at Mpilisi hailed Balaka Socials Football team for the initiative saying it will go a long way to assist them and appealed for more support.
