Factory to Process Vertiver Into Essential Oils Opens in Nkhotakota

A factory that will be processing Vertiver into essential oils, under a 425 thousand United States Dollar Project (a proximately 430 million Kwacha), funded by United Nations Development Program – UNDP has been opened, in Mtambalika Village, in the area of Senior Chief Mwadzama in Nkhotakota District.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima who opened the Tickbird Essential Oil Company Plant, expressed hope that it will assist in improving the country’s economy by introducing the exportation of oil to produce perfume in other countries.

As we hear in this report filed by Winstone Kaimira, a total of 800 farmers from the district, have been identified, to grow the crop.
