According to Engineer Gerlard Khonje, CEO of the National Construction Industry Council (NCIC), the event will be a momentous occasion to "take stock of what we have done as a country in terms of infrastructure development."

The celebrations will begin with a parade on May 19th, starting from Wang Street in Old Town and proceeding through Town Hall to Bic.

The event will feature exhibitions by various companies, government agencies, and professionals, showcasing successful projects and services provided to the construction industry. Financial institutions and insurance companies will also be in attendance, displaying their interface and investment in the construction industry.

On May 20th, the official celebration day, President Lazarus Chakwera will read a speech and officially inaugurate the Crossroads-Kenego Road, which will be handed over to the people of Malawi by the Chinese Embassy.

The President will also visit exhibitions at Bic to appreciate the achievements of Malawians in the construction industry.

During the event, several awards will be given to Malawians who have made outstanding contributions to the construction industry and the country's development.

These awards will recognize successful projects, veteran professionals, and individuals who have contributed significantly to the industry.

Engineer Khonje has urged all Malawians to participate in the celebrations, emphasizing the importance of loving and contributing to the development of their country.

"It is up to us to be vested in our country and contribute meaningfully to the development of this country," he said.

The National Construction Day is an opportunity for Malawians to come together and celebrate the country's achievements in infrastructure development. As Engineer Khonje aptly put it, "Let's gather at Bic and celebrate this wonderful day."
