The Academy’s Managing Director, Ernest Kawonga, says they have reduced the fees for online learning by 50 percent to enable more learners afford the tuition at a time when the virus has affected the economy.

“We believe even though we are in this crisis, this is not the time to allow our children to be just staying at home when chances are there for them to be learning with their friends.

“We believe as Maranatha, we have a role in building the future of Malawi. This is our way of assisting learners in Malawi to access quality education,” he said.

Mr. kawonga told journalists in Blantyre on Monday that the Academy “knows that most homes now have access to internet courtesy of different mobile service providers.

“We are also aware that in today’s world, most of the learners do access Whatsapp, Facebook and other social media platforms.

“This is the whole reason we would like to reach out to all learners who have access to internet to challenge them that even in this period, they can still in class virtually and life can progress normal.”

Malawi president, Peter Mutharika, directed closure of all schools in an attempt to avoid spread of Corona virus in the country.
