As the harsh winter season rages on, a faith-based organization has reached out to 30 households which include the elderly and people with disabilities with blankets in Phalombe.

Bishop for New Life Anointed Ministries, Christopher Kapito, says most people in rural areas were hit economically by effects of COVID 19; thereby failed to buy some basic needs such as blankets.

“As a church, we would want to ensure that underprivileged people have all the basic needs despite the adverse impact of COVID 19,” said Kapito.

One of the beneficiaries, Stelia Masupula, has hailed the church for the timely donation, saying it will help the beneficiaries during this winter season.

Masupula says she has no plans to sell the blanket once approached.

“I can’t do that; I have stayed for a long time without having a good blanket,” said Masupula.

The donation has been enabled with support from Arshad Ali, a business man based in Liberia.

New Life Anointed Ministries is also implementing Early Childhood Development and Village Saving and Loans programs in the area of Traditional Authority Mkhumba in Phalombe district.
