The country’s meteorological department says the Chiperoni weather conditions and Mwera winds being experienced in some parts of the country will clear away on Wednesday, warning Lake Malawi users to refrain from all fishing activities.

The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services (DCCMS) Principal meteorologist Yobu Kachiwanda said on Tuesday that the extreme weather conditions which started on Sunday is part of the winter season.

"This is part of winter season. It will clear away as we go to Wednesday,” he said.

Kachiwanda has since urged the citizenry to dress properly against the harsh cold conditions such as rain showers and strong winds.

He urged:"As usual, Malawians dress well and those with asthmatic conditions make sure you are safe. Those who are using charcoal burners please don't use them in closed rooms which are not ventilated since this is dangerous to life and property."
