Maranatha Girls Academy is hosting Form 4 students from Finish Line Secondary School who are sitting for the Malawi School Certificate of Education examinations.

Spokesperson for the Malawi National Examinations Board, Mayamiko Chiwaya, told local media that the students have been transferred there following the arrest of their teacher on allegations that he violated examination regulations.

The Academy’s Managing Director, Enerst Kaonga, says they could not deny the request because their aim is to promote education in the country.

“We have one education sector whose interest is to advance quality education in the country. Our beliefs are the same and hosting the students is one of the ways to demonstrate our oneness,” he said.

Police in Blantyre arrested Gift Maguza, a secondary teacher at Finish Line Private Secondary School which is close to the Academy for allegedly taking and sending to his colleague pictures of confidential instructions for the Agriculture Practical Examination Paper.
