The district's police prosecution officer, Felix Senzani told the court that in May and September 2022, the headteacher, John Rodrick Sanani, had slept with two female learners under the age of 16 at the school.

Senzani said that Sanani invited one girl learner in his office which was during holiday on pretext that he wanted to give her text books, but he defiled her.

He said after that, the girl revealed the ordeal to her parents who took her to hospital where medical examination came out positive.

"This aroused community outrage against the headteacher, citing that it was his behavior and some also mentioned that the convict had defiled another minor who upon investigations, she revealed that they had four sexual encounters in May 2022," he said.

The court will pass the judgment on January 9, 2024.

Sanani comes from M'mamera village, Traditional Authority Mabuka in Mulanje.
