Executive director, Daniel Jafuledi, told Zodiak Online Monday that many, particularly the elderly, desperately require support once hospitalized.

Jafuledi said the current economic crisis is impacting negatively on the elderly as most of them lack material support.

"We are calling on both the corporate and public sectors to assist the elderly who are mostly forgotten," said Jafuledi.

He made the plea when the organization donated assorted food and non-food items to some of the elderly persons receiving treatment at Phalombe District Hospital.

Gracious Likharuwe, a nurse at the district's referral facility, expressed gratitude for the timely support, emphasizing the significant need for assistance among the elderly.

Likharuwe called on the citizenry to remember people receiving medical treatment in various hospitals as most of them are hospitalized without nothing.
