President Chakwera fires Dr Kayuni as DPP
President Lazarus Chakwera has fired Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Steve Kayuni for his unprocedural conduct in the arrest of Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau Martha Chizuma last month.
President Chakwera during a national address this morning announced the hiring of Masauko Chamkakala as the new DPP while maintaining Chizuma as ACB boss.
The decision is among a number of actions his office has taken in response to recommendations of the report by an independent commission that was tasked to probe circumstances around the arrest of ACB boss in December.
