Police Cant Police - Sibande

Right activist, Chrispine Sibande, says public trust in the Malawi Police Service is at an all-time low such that it cannot be trusted to investigate wrong doing of its own officers.

This is coming in the wake of police announcement of the setting up of a six-member team to conduct criminal investigations into allegations of rape and defilement by police officers while on an operation at Msundwe in Lilongwe.

But spokesperson for the Malawi police, James Kadadzera, says this is only their response to recommendations made in a report by the Malawi Human Rights Commission report.
