What Will Happen in The League Over The Weekend?

As the TNM Super League is set for a return this weekend on Saturday and Sunday across the country, here is the full guide of action.
Nyasa Big Bullets will begin the TNM Super League title defense with a home fixture against last season’s bronze medalist Blue Eagles at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.
The first round of the 2020 season is scheduled to kick-off on 28th November and the People’s Team will host the Lilongwe police side on the opening day, according to the initial roster released by the Super League of Malawi (Sulom).
The two teams will be meeting after sharing three points apiece last season, with Blue Eagles claiming a 2-1 win at Nankhaka in the first round before Bullets thrashed the visitors 4-1 at Kamuzu Stadium in the second round.
This season The People’s Team will be chasing a third consecutive title after bagging the 2018 and 2019 elite league titles.
Last season Bullets won the championship with 70 points, a point above their fierce rivals Be Forward Wanderers.
Newly promoted sides Mafco FC and Redlions will kick start their campaign against each other at Chitowe Stadium.
Mafco were crowned 2019 Central region football association league champions thereby earning promotion into the elite league whereas Red lions won the South Region Football Association's premier league.
Karonga United who finished 10th on the standings last season will be going into their third year in the elite league with a fixture against rivals Chitipa United at Karonga stadium.
Another MDF side Kamuzu Barracks will be in action on Saturday at the Mzuzu Stadium away to rookies Ekwendeni Hammers.
Tigers for the first time in as many years finished just outside the top 8 spots which means they will not participate in this year’s Airtel Top 8. But they will look to kick off this year’s campaign on a high note when they will be taking on TN Stars at Chiwembe in Blantyre.
Second Day 22 March 2020
On Sunday one of the biggest games on the land will take place.
Apart from Blantyre derby which involves Nyasa Big Bullets and Be-Forward Wanderers, when Civil Service United faces Silver Strikers in a football match regardless of where it takes place or which competition, it is always considered as one of the finest games in Malawi dubbed Lilongwe derby.
Their rivalry draws a lot of spectators from across the country and the fact that they are neighbors it’s even worse in the streets as people give different views on the outcome of the game. That game involving the two will take place at Civo Stadium on Sunday.
Last season’s runners-up Mighty Be-Forward Wanderers will travel to Mzuzu to take on Mzuzu warriors.
Malawi Defence Force outfit Moyale Barracks will begin its campaign away to Ntopwa football club at Chiwembe Stadium.
