Opinion: Are Silver Strikers FC Title Contenders?

This is a question that many Silver Strikers followers are asking themselves and answering themselves at the same time.

Going by the team's performance this season, one would outrightly say the Central Bankers are indeed in the mix for the title, however, with just 10 games played, it could also be considered as too early to talk about the Super League title.

Analysis

Prior to the kick off of the 2023 TNM Super League, the bankers of area 47 were not among the favourites to win the title not because they didn't have the players or anything but because of the poor showing in the previous season coupled with misunderstandings that engulfed the Lilongwe giants among others.

The coming in of the Dutch coach Pieter De Jongh brought excitement among Silver Strikers faithful servants but some were still in doubt because they had seen it all when Zambian tactician Dan Kabwe made them even poor in his second season in charge.

You cannot blame them because every supporter's dream is to see his/her team lifting trophies every season regardless of who is in charge or the type of players that are available and for Silver Strikers it's been a hustle to win the league thus far. The last time they sniffed the glory of winning the league was in 2013.

Title Contenders

With how the Central Bankers have started this season, I personally believe that they are indeed in the title mix alongside the defending champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.

It's not going to be easy though, because as long as the people's team (FCB NBB) are in the same league with you, they are always the favourites.
