Centenary Bank, in partnership with Airtel Money, has launched two new digital financial services, Cente Fees and Cente Value, to make payments and transactions easier for Malawians.
The new services aim to simplify how people pay school fees and access money or electronic value without having to visit the bank.
According to Centenary Bank Managing Director Godfrey Byekwaso, the launch of these products is part of the bank’s promise to offer convenient and innovative services.
“We promised to make banking easier and more inclusive, and these two products are helping us do exactly that,” he said.
Cente Fees allows parents and guardians to pay school fees using Airtel Money directly from their Centenary Bank accounts, while Cente Value helps Airtel Money agents buy value and move money between their Airtel wallets and bank accounts more easily.
Airtel Money Managing Director Thokozani Kamkondo Sande said the partnership with Centenary Bank is aimed at supporting education and improving digital finance across the country.
“Education is key to Malawi’s growth, and with many people using Airtel Money, we believe this partnership will make life easier for parents and agents alike,” she said.
Sande also reminded users to always keep their PINs safe to protect their money.
Customers who have already started using the services say they are helpful and time-saving. One parent, Edwin Watch, shared his experience:
“I’ve used Cente Fees for two terms now. It’s very convenient. I don’t need to travel to make payments anymore.”
Bridget Mkhundi, an Airtel Money and Centenary Bank agent, also praised the new product:
“Before, I had to walk long distances just to get value. Now I can do everything easily from where I am,” she said.
