The Zalewa CCAP Men's Ministry has today donated maize flour and other items to the needy in the area of village headman Zalewa under Senior Chief Symon in Neno district.

Officiating clergy at Zalewa CCAP Reverend Thokozani Kwalamasa has told Zodiak Online that churches should be a sanctuary for the troubled and thanked the men's ministry for sourcing funds to help the poor.

He said that " it is our responsibility to ensure that our members and nonmembers are well both in body and soul hence this exercise of distributing these items," said Rev. Kwalamasa.

He then thanked all the Men's Ministry members who spared their resources for the gesture, describing them as true servants of the Lord and the people.

He called on Lord's blessings to be upon them and the whole nation.

Speaking on behalf of Zalewa men's ministry, its chairperson Wesley Ndalama pledged to continue helping the poor with plans underway to reach many during this time when economic problems have rocked many households.

He said that " we want to expand this exercise and reach as many needy as we can. We understand the plight most Malawians are going through and we will do something to lessen that suffering".

Lovenes Likongwe, a beneficiary, said the donation was timely with high places of maize at the local market. She then called upon other churches and denominations to emulate the gesture.
