Shakeup at Admarc Helm

Board chairperson at the country’s grain market, Admarc, Felix Jumbe, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the parastatal replacing Margaret Roka Mauwa with immediate effect.

This is coming at a time the organization is deep in financial problems and when it is failing to live up to its mandate.

Besides the operational problems rocking the parastatal the corporation is also hit by administrative hiccups which forced staff to, on several occasions, demand the head of Mauwa.

Jumbe jumps in office from the board where Stain Singo has taken over as board chair. Jumbe, a politician and successful agro businessman, appears optimistic the tables can turn.

“I am yet to sign for the appointment. But as I have said before, this work needed someone knowledgeable about farming and agriculture,” he said. And he is such a person.

A letter bearing the news and signed for by Chief Secretary to government, Lloyd Muhara, says Roka-Mauwa will now be at the ministry of Agriculture on secondment.
