Hope Spark Champions Quality Education at Chiponde Primary

In a heartwarming act of generosity and commitment to education Hope Spark a non-governmental organization, has donated school uniforms, books, and sanitary pads to learners at Chiponde Primary School in Dowa District.

The donation forms part of Hope Spark’s ongoing mission to empower underprivileged communities and ensure that every child enjoys access to quality education.

“We believe that children shouldn’t fail to attend classes because they can’t afford basic needs," said Triza Nawira Public Relations Officer for Hope Spark.
“It’s the duty of those who are able to lend a hand to assist in any way they can.”

Headteacher at Chiponde Primary School Ganizani Banda expressed deep gratitude for the timely support.

“We are very thankful to Hope Spark for assisting us with some of the basic needs for the students,” said Banda.

“As a school, we have about 1,000 students, and we struggle to cater to them all. We don’t have enough school blocks, and most of our facilities are temporary. So, any assistance that comes our way is greatly appreciated.”

His words reflect the everyday challenges faced by many schools in rural Malawi—limited infrastructure, scarce learning materials, and insufficient support. Despite these hurdles, gestures like Hope Spark’s continue to offer a ray of hope to both learners and educators.

Hope Spark has also pledged to continue its support for the school, with plans to donate school shoes and other essential items in the near future.

“We are not stopping here,” added Nawira. “We want to make sure every child at Chiponde has what they need to learn and thrive.”
