Mhango Wins Cedar Energy Squash Tournament

Samuel Mhango emerged number one in a seven men Squash Tournament played at Mulanje Golf Club on Saturday.

The tournament was organized by the electricity generating company-Cedar Energy which is currently running Mulanje Golf Club.

Mhango attributed his brilliant performance to adequate preparation and hard work.

"This is my first time to participate in a tournament and emerging a winner. I feel so much proud and I will continue practicing and participating in other tournaments to come," said Mhango who works at Mulanje District Council.

Cedar Energy Logistics Manager Jacob Chunga Kazawala told Zodiak Online that Squash is one of the indoor games the club has been organizing in recent times.

"We are in the process of rebranding Mulanje Golf Club to Mulanje Sports Club and this is the reason we are introducing other games like this squash, rugby, tennis and volleyball at this facility," said Jacob.

Reuben Foquet, the Belgian scooped position two.

"I have seen that all these players are amateurs and I believe that through tournaments like this one, we can have good squash players," said Reuben.

Samuel and Reuben received trophies from Cedar Energy.

Other players that participated in the tournament were Petro Bonga, Thom Ndekha, Jones Matemvu, Ozzle Chipokosa and Eton Kufakosaleka.
