Creck Sporting Part Ways with Kamwendo

Kamwendo; its part of the process of growing in the game

Creck Sporting Club has officially parted ways with head coach Joseph Kamwendo, along with his two assistants — first assistant coach Abel Mkandawire and Chiukepo Msowoya, who was responsible for the strikers.

The club’s General Secretary Aaron Kandiwo Mtaya confirmed the development saying that the process of identifying a new technical panel is already underway and they will be announced in due course.

Kamwendo’s dismissal follows his suspension last week due to the team’s underwhelming performance. Creck SC was recently eliminated from the Airtel Top 8 by FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and has managed just one win in their first four league matches.

“We are grateful to Kamwendo for his contributions, but as a club, we felt it was time to take a new direction,” Mtaya said.

Reacting to the news, Kamwendo, a former Orlando Pirates midfielder who also had a coaching spell with Bungwe All Stars, expressed surprise at the decision but maintained a positive outlook.

“Yes, I received a letter yesterday (Tuesday). I wish the club all the best. I believe I did well during my time there and I am not bitter. I just have to accept and move on,” said Kamwendo.

Creck Sporting Club is expected to announce the new coaching team soon as they look to turn around their season.
